Evvie’s Nursery

[line]

When I was pregnant with Evvie, I knew I wanted to do a vintage/antique theme for the nursery– antique lighting, vintage crib, shiplap, flowers, really light and bright! My grandma gave me a chandelier that belonged to my great grandma from her home where both my grandma and mother had grown up in (so sweet!), so I was trying to base the whole nursery off of the chandelier alone. I convinced myself that I needed a white iron crib to match the theme and literally looked everyday on Facebook Market and craigslist. I was trying to find a genuine antique iron crib; one that wasn’t from Restoration Hardware and didn’t cost over $600 (I was a budget for this nursery and didn’t want to blow it all on just the crib– antiques aren’t always the cheapest). I had no luck, and went with my second option- a 26 year old Jenny Lind crib painted white. I loved it!

Fast forward to 9 months post-pregnancy… I finally found it. Guys. I am obsessed. I had given up after she was born and all thanks to my recent insomnia, at 2am on deep down in the Facebook Market archives, I found an antique white crib dating back to 1890!!!! And all for $50!!! Seriously a steal. They are soooo so hard to come by and I went and got it the very same morning! It’s in amazing condition and all it needed was a little paint job. It had already been sandblasted and repainted again so it is perfectly safe. Although she’s soon to turn 10 months, I feel like her nursery is now complete 🙂

Almost every vintage find in this nursery is from Facebook Market or my local Antique Market here in Raleigh. I love the way this all turned out!
